Associate Professor of Taxonomy and aquatic biodiversity at National Institute of Oceanography & Fisheries, Alexandria, Egypt; Head of Scientific Training Committee; Member of UNESCO-Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission committee–Intergovernmental Panel on Harmful Algal Blooms (IPHAB). Assistant Secretary of Environment Committee at Homat Elwatan Political party. Member of Egyptian Association Friends of Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Member of Egyptian Phycological society, Egyptian Botany society & Arabian aquaculture society. Member in the NIOF Technology Innovation Commercialization Office (TICO) for effective contributions.

Her research studies focus on Taxonomy & Biodiversity of Aquatic Biota (Phytoplankton and Macroalgae), monitoring of Harmful algal bloom and applications studies of algae. She managed many scientific national and research projects. Participated in many scientific conferences, training programmes. Editorial board member of many international scientific journals. Published widely and served as a reviewer for MSc and Ph.D. theses. Supervised many MSc and Ph.D. theses.
